After 38 years at London Bridge, The London Dungeon is moving to new premises in the deep, dark depths of County Hall on South Bank next month. So, they’ve had a clearout and are selling off their excess weird and wonderful, theatrical props today. If you’re a fan of macabre trophies, hurry across to Pimlico’s weekly Capital Car Boot between 11.30am and 3.30pm for this ‘carnage car boot sale’, as featured on the Time Out website.

Feeling brave? Sharpen your elbows and check out Thriftstock 2013 at the East End Thrift Store, which organisers claim is London’s largest ever jumble sale. Once you’re there, grab yourself a medium sized carrier bag for £10 or a large one for £20. Then you can pile in as many vintage pieces from the ‘70s to the ‘90s as you want. Just be aware that the jumble will be, er, in a jumble, so you’ll have to be prepared to rummage with the best of ‘em. And when you come up for air, you can quench your thirst and count your bruises in the free bar. Good luck!

A glamorous exhibition opened yesterday at The Fashion Museum in Bath to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Fifty Fabulous Frocks is a showcase for both the richness of the museum collection and key moments in fashion history. These beautiful pieces still inspire modern day designers, TV costume designers and film makers, resulting in brilliant productions like Downton Abbey, The Great Gatsby and Anna Karenina. Exhibition highlights include an Edwardian Champagne dress worn at a fancy dress party, an Ossie Clark slinky jersey evening dress and a classic, chic Chanel suit. Also on display are exquisite outfits from today’s most desired designers and brands, like Erdem, Burberry and John Rocha.
