Behind the scenes of our Cosmopolitan Magazine fashion shoot – part 2: ‘Forever Boho’

Next up in our exciting Standout Style shoot with Cosmopolitan Magazine was the fabulous ‘Forever Boho’ trend, styled by Cosmo’s fabulous Holly Coopey.

As the model twins emerged from their hair and make-up refresh and wardrobe change, we were blown away by the transformation. Their sleek ‘Monastic White’ looks had been totally replaced by tousled hair, smokey eyes and floaty outfits. All perfectly capturing AW15’s take on the dreamy, vintage-inspired Seventies boho trend that’s forever reinventing itself.

Wow! We couldn’t wait to hear Holly’s insider style tips on how to make bohemian style your next fashion fix.

“So Holly, how do we get into the groove with all things Seventies this season?”

“Think OTT clashing prints – like tie-dye paired with paisley, florals and Suzani patterns, plus an array of textured fabrics and layers of statement jewellery. I was tempted to add more jewellery but held back, because AW15 boho is less about jewellery and more about layering beautiful fabrics.

Plus, mix textured jackets, coats and shearling with rough wool similar to the brushed-cotton skirt I used in the shoot that takes your wardrobe seamlessly from summer into autumn.

And for a modern twist for colder weather, tone down the festival vibe and focus more on bell sleeves and A-line skirts. Plus, if you’d like to channel the ‘granny-chic’ vibe, choose longer-length dresses and skirts paired with hosiery or thick socks.

Also, have fun playing with party dresses – rock them as day dresses as well to hit the right note. The Temperley dress I used is amazing. Layered with outerwear and tights, it instantly makes the look more casual.

High or wide necklines and pussy-bows scream boho-chic too and you can’t go wrong by adding fringing. Whether it’s suede, beaded or adorned with pompoms, fringing is the way forward if you’re channelling your inner-bohemian babe. And pay homage to the style icon that is Stevie Nicks by adding lurex pieces woven with gold thread.

The ‘Forever Boho’ look is a glamorous, bohemian, Seventies blast from the past with luxe appeal.”

Thanks Holly!
