Need a break? A trip to a luxurious spa could be just what the doctor ordered. The UK is home to a host of award-winning spas to cater to every customer. So whether you’re looking for a country escape or a chic inner-city retreat there’s a spa for you.
Here’s a round-up of our favourites…
Thermae Bath Spa – Bath
Situated in the historic city of Bath, this is the UK’s only natural thermal spa. Here, visitors can bathe in warm, mineral-rich waters, just as the Romans and Celts did over 2,000 years ago.
The standout feature of Bath’s Thermae Spa is the roof-top pool, which offers beautiful views over the city day and night. There’s also an indoor Minerva bath (named after the ancient goddess Minerva). Also, there are treatment rooms for the ultimate pampering experience.
Titanic Spa – Huddersfield
Set in the quaint Yorkshire countryside, Titanic Spa is the UK’s first eco-spa situated in a ‘green building’ powered by renewable energy sources.
The natural spring water in its swimming pools makes for a luxurious experience so you can luxuriate in natural bliss.
The spa is also housed in an impressive former mill, Titanic Spa offers overnight stays in the 33 apartments on site, making it the ideal destination for a relaxing getaway in the north.
Rowhill Grange – Kent
If you’re seeking an Instagram-worthy spa, look no further than Rowhill Grange’s ‘Utopia Spa’ in Kent which boasts impressive ancient-Rome inspired interiors.
Best feature: the location. It’s surrounded by 15 acres of a stunning private estate, Victorian gardens and botanical trees, all waiting to be discovered in the Grange Grounds.
Within easy travelling distance of London, Rowhill Grange offers the perfect retreat for exhausted city workers looking to escape the city for the weekend.
Ragdale Hall – Leicestershire
For the ultimate in luxury look to Ragdale Hall Hotel Spa which offers plush surroundings in the rolling Leicestershire countryside. Ragdale Hall itself is a charming red-brick country house built in 1785 – think Downton Abbey meets modern-day getaway.
There are extensive spa facilities and a show-stopping infinity pool (installed in 2018) heated to a tropical 35 degrees.
The scenic views paired with a beautiful surrounding area are our idea of total bliss.
Thames Lido Spa – Reading
For something a little bit different, look to the Thames Lido Spa, which opened in 2018 following a £3.5million restoration. Want to relax for the whole weekend? No problem. Each spa package includes meals in the delicious restaurant, as well as treatments too.
First opened to the public in 1902 as the Ladies Swimming Bath, the site is believed to be the oldest surviving outdoor municipal pool from the Edwardian period.
