Cannes Film Festival: Where the stars lunch on the French Riviera
With the Cannes Film Festival starting on 14 May, celebrities and top film executives are flocking to the French Riviera, and luxury hotels and restaurants are preparing for the jet-setters to arrive. To get a glimpse inside the world of the stars, one of our favourite guest bloggers, Tine from Mummy in the City, headed to Cap D’Antibes to review the best celeb-spotting seats.
Here, she picks out the hottest seafront restaurants.
Luxury Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc is the place to see and be seen on the Riviera, and the beautiful hotel is the perfect place to go for lunch if you don’t mind the paparazzi, which are often seen waiting in boats outside. Enjoy a salad and an expensive glass of rose on the terrace at Eden Roc Grill, while watching the large yachts off the coast and glamorous hotel guests hanging out by the stunning infinity pool.
For a casual lunch on the beach, Le Cap restaurant at stylish boutique hotel Cap D’Antibes Beach Hotel is a popular choice, offering delicious dishes, including a fantastic club sandwich, and beautiful sea views. Relax in the shade on the decking or soak in the sun on the fine sandy beach, while trying to guess who’s hiding behind big sunglasses and wide-brimmed hats.
In the centre of Juan-les-Pins, historic hotel Belles Rives attracts a glamorous clientele, and the fantastic waterfront terrace is ideal for lunch. Get in the spirit of summer with a fresh seasonal salad and cold glass of rosé, while enjoying the friendly service and discussing who might be staying at the hotel this year. After a delicious lunch, snap a sunbed only metres from the table and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in style.
Whether you’re lucky enough to join in the action next week, or will be celeb-spotting closer to home, let us know in the ‘comments’ box below if you get any sneaky snaps of the stars!
