For online shopaholics, the thrill of completing an order and eagerly waiting for it to arrive is one of life’s little luxuries. But along with the joy of receiving your goods in the post follows the dreaded guilt at the often unnecessary amount of packaging. From cardboard to bubble wrap to plastic and every material in between, wasteful packaging has a nasty impact on the environment.
Luckily, as we become more conscious and environmentally aware as consumers, online retailers are following suit. Drum roll please… At BrandAlley, we’ve partnered with DuoGreen to offer sustainable packaging!
Our brand new bags are made from GreenPE, a thermoplastic sustainable resin, made from sugar cane. GreenPE is a renewable, sustainable material that is also recyclable.
Not only is GreenPE sustainable, renewable and recyclable, the bags are also CO2 negative as the sugarcane plants grows it captures and stores CO2 from the atmosphere. For every kilogram of GreenPE produced, 2.85kg of CO2 is saved.
Making the decision to use GreenPE for our brand new packaging range will save this year alone 70tonnes of CO2 which is the equivalent of 594,915 CO2 in km driven by car. That’s a pretty big saving!
With all our customers receiving our products in this GreenPE packaging we believe that we can make a real difference to the amount of greenhouse emissions we contribute to the environment. This is one big step we’re taking to reduce our carbon footprint.
Look out for our new sustainable mailing bags with your next BrandAlley order!
