Dare to Wear Exhibition
Over at the Crypt Gallery at St Pancras Church on Euston Road, there’s a wonderfully quirky, fashion-themed art exhibition called Dare to Wear. Curated by the eccentric style maven Sue Kreitzman, 27 artists explore wardrobe conundrums like, ‘Will flamboyance set you free?’ and ‘Will wearing beige really kill you?’. Expect an exuberant riot of colour and texture, including clothing, jewellery, sculptures, installations, paintings, masks and chandeliers from a stellar line-up including Tatty Devine, Ella Guru and Liz Parkinson.
Sneaking into Fashion
Don’t miss the final day of Sneaking into Fashion at the Covent Garden Piazza. This brilliant FREE exhibition tracks the trainer’s journey through popular culture and shows the fascinating way that fashion and sport influence each other. From Mo Farah’s Nike Volts worn on ‘Super Saturday’ and Beyoncé’s Isabel Marant heeled high-tops to Uma Thurman’s Kill Bill Onitsuka Tigers, there are some real gems on display.
Spooky Halloween fun
So, the kids have broken up for half term and are expecting to be entertained! With all the Halloween happenings on today all around the UK, why not start the scary fun early? For example, your lovely little ghouls can take part in ghostly trails and enjoy creepy craft activities with English Heritage and go on a spooktacular family walk, watch a pumpkin parade or get involved in witchy broom making with The National Trust.
Make your own Halloween decorations
If you love celebrating Halloween but don’t want to spend a fortune on decorations, why not make your own? There are loads of fun and savvy ideas on All About You – like draping a door with a ghost. Simply cut an image of a ghost (like the one in the photo) from a large sheet of white tissue paper. Then stick it to the top of a door frame, so that when someone opens it, they get a bit of a surprise! Or, you could always hang one at the front window!
Happy Sunday
