V&A Hollywood Costume Exhibition
There’s a hugely exciting exhibition just opened at the V&A, which is totally unmissable. Hollywood Costume brings together over 100 of the most iconic movie costumes from a century of Hollywood film-making – most of which have never been displayed in public before! So, this really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the clothes worn by unforgettable and beloved characters such as Dorothy Gale, Scarlett O’Hara, Jack Sparrow, Holly Golightly and Darth Vader. Go to the V&A’s website to find out more, watch a sneak video preview and download the tie-in, fashionable App.
Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair’s Haute Halloween Event
Starting the Halloween celebrations early, the ever-popular Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair is having a bit of a knees-up today with a ghoulish twist! As always, this fashionable event is an amazing treasure trove of inspiration for your vintage looks. But this time, in a nod to spooky autumn fun, you can also expect Halloween themed beauty treatments and quintessentially English food and refreshments at the Tea Room des Artist, where you will be entertained by the lovely Wayward Sisters.
BBC Good Food Show Scotland
For one of the tastiest dates in the Scottish food calendar, head over to the SECC in Glasgow for the BBC Good Food Show Scotland. All the usual favourites will be there cooking up a storm in the Supertheatre, including celebrity chefs like James Martin, MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace and the Great British Bake Off. Plus, you can meet local producers, sample delicious seasonal produce and shop to your heart’s content.
Celebrate National Knitting Week
Even though the National Knitting Week ends today, there’s still time to get involved. It’s all about sharing your love for yarn crafts by passing on your skills to help inspire the next generation of knitters and get your community crazy for knitting. There’s a serious side to it all too – money raised will go to Bliss, the special care baby charity. You can see the full list of events in your area on the UK Hand Knitting Association website. You’ll also find loads of free, fashionable knitting and crochet patterns, like the infamous Sarah Lund Jumper!
Happy Sunday
