Glastonbury you say?
When the word Glastonbury sings from the mouth, an influx of emotional memories and unforgettable yet fuzzy moments flood to the forefront of your mind.
A music festival that brings so many (180,000 to be precise) together, is also of utmost importance in the fashion calendar. Let’s face it, Glasto is the coolest festival around, and anyone who is anyone will be there. However, festival fashion appears to do a one-eighty when the ladies and gents of the runway head to Somerset. For at Glastonbury, wearing what appears to be your granny’s curtain belted, plastic flowers (knotted and tangled) in your hair, and jazzy neon leotards layered with fringing from every limb, is what we see returning year after year.
Don’t get us wrong, there are plenty who pull this look off – let’s not forget the moment Kate Moss wore the original “Tall Hunter” in 2005 (wellies you’d only usually wear to muck out your pony) and Cressida Bonas (the ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry) ticked all festival-attire boxes in 2014 by donning cutesy dungarees, neon sunglasses and satin bomber jackets. But there is always the worry that you’ll arrive, rucksack-on-back and tent-in-hand, looking more mess than hot-mess.
Fear not, we have the answer… Free People.
The perfect combination of tomboyish cool and bohemian chic, Free People is the brand to rock whilst rocking out to Coldplay. With loose fitting floral dresses, form-fitting lace crop tops and distressed denim throughout their collection, you can cater for all weather conditions whilst standing out from the crowed.
Originally founded in the 70’s as one store, Free People grew quickly and later became the store we know as Urban Outfitters. Then, in 1984, new life was injected into the name Free People, which has since evolved to brand we love and wear today.
