Following the excitement of “I’ve booked a holiday!” comes the question of: “What am I going to wear?!”
Here to help you carry out your most stylish summer yet, influencer (and all-round summer style icon), @vanessaroseblair tells us about her recent trip to Morocco, as well as how to avoid over-packing for the airport, building a capsule wardrobe, and the importance of hands-free accessories in the city.
Hey Vanessa! Firstly, how was your trip to Morocco?
I’ve loved exploring Morocco! I tend to get up early in the morning and just set out! I’m a huge fan of architecture, so anything with culture or history is right up my street.
Linen Paperbag Short – No. Eleven – £22
Did you manage to pick up any Moroccan accessories or homeware while you were there?
I’d love to take a Moroccan rug home with me one day, but I will have to leave that for another visit!
And what’s at the top of your packing list for your next trip?
That’s easy – it HAS to be a linen dress, it’s perfect to take from day to night. My Whistles dress from BrandAlley is my favourite – it’s so versatile!
Frill Sleeve Midi Dress – Whistles – £35
How do you take an outfit from day to night to avoid over-packing?
Always pack clothes you can mix and match, and then a change of shoes and a bag more suitable for the evening. I’ll always swap out a larger straw day bag for a small clutch to instantly transform the look.
Vanessa’s Picks
The Baguette Costner Small Bag – Amanda Wakeley – £99
Rion Cotton Dress – Claudie Pierlot – £115
Forest Way Medium Zip Multiway – Radley – £95
How does your style change for a city break versus a beach holiday?
When I think of city dressing, I instantly think of easiness and hands free! I’ll always do trainers and a cross-body bag to be convenient. For the beach, I choose easy, breezy layers like a linen dress or shirt, and of course a pair of sandals!
