Yes, Xmas is officially here, well at least inM&S land, and what better way to get you into the festive mood than all of the Christmas Adverts going up.
Prepare to be dazed, amazed and saddened for all of the Christmas adverts coming your way. But never fear, because M&S’s Xmas advert couldn’t be more sweet and loving. With the beloved Paddington bear being the main character, there is possibly nothing cuter.
Taking more than 4 months to create, the 90-second advert called “Paddington and the Christmas Visitor” sees the duffle coated bear saving Christmas with what better than gifts. Meeting a burglar, Paddington mistakes him for Santa Claus, as he is dressed oddly similar for some strange reason. Also, why would a burglar wear that to rob someone? But Christmas is not the time for logic.
Whilst scoffing down a mince pie or two, Paddington slowly and surely makes sure all of the presents are safely under the Christmas tree for when the big day arrives.
And with his blue duffle coat and red hat. Paddington slowly makes sure everything is fine, and also turns a burglar into essentially Santa for a day. Yes, we are realising how odd the idea of Santa is now that we’re all older.
This campaign is also going to be helping charities across the UK. With profits through sales of the illustrated book going towards the NSPCC to fund the childline over the holidays, and with the newly anticipated release of Paddington 2 coming out this holiday.
This is definitely a big winner for M&S. So, start enjoying Christmas early, and get into the spirit by eating all of the Christmas themed food and watching advert over Christmas advert again. We know we’ll be doing the same.
