Christmas seems to be just right around the corner again, and we couldn’t be happier that it is.
With all the presents and the stressful family get-togethers, this year you might want to veer the conversation away from mortgages and kids to some new Christmas Recipes instead. That in itself will be simple if everyone is tucking into ones you made earlier. If you are cooking this year (god help you) here’s how you could switch it up a bit (and make more exciting conversation in the process.)
Caribbean Turkey with Spicy Cornbread & Chorizo Stuffing
Taken straight from the Caribbean, this Caribbean turkey is going to be one for you spice lovers out there; a change from the boring old traditional turkey that you have every year.
Perfect with the spicy cornbread and Chorizo stuffing, it’s one to keep in mind if you don’t want that same slightly dry turkey again this year. You might even get some leftover meals out of it as well. See recipe here.
Porchetta Di Davida
Take some inspiration from our Italian friends this year, and no, we’re not talking about just eating pasta and meatballs. Instead go for this classic Italian roasted piglet for a tasty change in flavours. See Recipe here.
Salmon en Croute
This is going to be one of those dishes that you will want to show off at your Christmas parties. Despite this, it’s actually incredibly simple to do, and if you don’t want something too heavy this year then this is the perfect alternative. See recipe here
Beef Wellington
A classic French dish, this beef wellington is tricky to master, but if you can, it’ll all be worth it when you tuck in. Perfect paired with a Potato Gratin in place of roast potatoes this Christmas. See recipe here.
Beef Cheeks in Red Wine
A little bit of a lighter dish to start off your Christmas feast, this more unusual cut is as succulent and tasty as other, more popular ones. And Christmas is always the time to be a little fancy with your food, right? See recipe here.
Seared Scallops with minted peas and beans
A perfect starter for any meal, these seared scallops should hit the spot if you want something light before the grand entrance of the main meal appears before you. See recipe here.
Baked Brie Almond Apricots
For all of you vegetarians out there, this is going to be one of your go to’s this Christmas. With a Baked Brie, you can dip anything you want in it and it’s sure to be delicious. See recipe here.
Mulled Red Wine Sweets
Just in case you weren’t getting enough wine this Christmas, these mulled red wine sweets are sure to hit the spot after your Christmas dinner this year. See recipe here
Pear Tart Tatin
A classic French Tatin, this is going to be perfect after the heavy Christmas dinner, especially combined with a sorbet. See recipe here
Apple Cranberry Wild Rice
A side dish that you may not think of but that makes a perfect light starter. With the added apple and cranberries, it will add something different to your standard rice dish. See recipe here.
Honey Maple Roasted Carrots
We know what the vegetables are normally like at the Christmas feast: boiled and overdone with a heavy amount of butter and drenched in gravy afterwards. Instead, why not make these honey maple roasted carrots for a bit of a difference this year? See recipe here.
Black Forest Frozen Cheesecake
Able to be made the day before it’s consumed, this cheesecake is going to be your saviour if you can’t make everything on the day, and it’s a tasty sweet note to end the Christmas dinner on as well. See recipe here.
Baumkuchen
Taken from Germany, this Baumkuchen probably looks difficult, but with a little bit of effort and time is sure to be a new favourite of yours. Trust us, you’re going to love it for some new Christmas Recipes. See Recipe here
So, there you have it, some new Christmas Recipes to try out this year that you might not have heard of before.
