Ice skating, believe it or not, can be done all year round, but we all seem to forget how fun an activity it really is until it hits the holiday and suddenly becomes the number one date idea of the season.

Somerset House
Probably one of the most famous places to go ice skating in London, Somerset house is not only beautiful all year round but has had an ice rink every winter for 20 years. It’s something of a tradition to go ice skating here at Christmas time. These days they even do “skate lates” with DJs for something a little different on the ice.
National History Museum
There are few places more magical than the National History Museum Ice Rink, with their giant Christmas tree and sea of fairy lights. It’s the perfect place to skate with friends, dates or families. They even provide push along penguins for the younger skaters, (though unfortunately, they don’t let adults benefit from these).
Alexandra Palace
We can’t just depend on festive ice skating opportunities; Alexandra Palace solves this issue by providing year-round skating in their iconic Victorian venue. Queens
Food, bowling and ice skating all in one place? Sounds too good to be true! Yet Queens is the most central year-round ice rink in London and after 8 pm it’s entirely over 18s. Since its establishment in the 1930s, it has recently been renovated and now boasts the UK’s first rink-side skate up bar. Plus, Queens also provides ice skating lessons and half-price skating on Mondays!
Ice Bar London
Want all the fun of the ice but none of the skating? Ice Bar London is a well-known location for just that. They keep their bar at -0.5c and serve drinks in glasses made of ice, surrounded by themed ice sculptures for an extra memorable experience.
