Who saw Karl Lagerfeld and Victoria Beckham getting together for the cover of French Vogue? They looked amazing posing on the famed mirrored stairs of Coco Chanel, and launched this week’s hot topic, one of fashion’s most iconic item, Chanel’s little black jacket. With Karl Lagerfeld’s exhibition in the Saatchi gallery of the famous faces wearing the coveted item, it seems all fashion lovers can’t wait to go see it. And for those who already have, we’ve picked a few of our faves.
Anyone who is anyone was at the Little Black Jacket exhibition launch last Thursday. Just look at the photo of Zara Martin, Laura Hayden and of course blogger, Bip Ling in Chanel. But not everyone got to go to a slap up dinner with Karl Lagerfeld himself afterwards. Oh how we envy you Bip Ling!
Ella from Coco’s Tea Party also was lucky enough for a preview in the gallery the day before it’s official opening. With 113 portraits of the famous faces (and lack of in Anna Wintour’s case) all wearing the jacket, it’s giving us inspiration on how to wear this season’s must-have item. OK, we may not be shelling out for a Chanel one but there are plenty of versions on the highstreet. Just check out Alex Loves blogspot for the hottest ones. We love the statement little black jackets. They may not have the timelessness of Chanel’s version but with on-trend studs, embellishment and patterns; it’s on our hit list. It’s not just Bip Ling who loves Anna Wintour’s portrait the most. The iconic bob meant everyone knew exactly who she was, without even having to show her face.
