Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon, a self-taught British designer, launched his eponymous brand in 2002 after two decades working with some of the biggest names in design. Known for his contemporary yet historically influenced creations, Dixon has become a leading figure in the design world, transforming everyday objects into extraordinary pieces. His work merges clean lines, sculptural forms and a modernist vision, with a focus on industrial materials and innovative design.
Dixon's journey began in the 1980s when he was introduced to welding, which led to the creation of over 100 chairs to refine his craft. His debut S-chair showcased his talent for structural integrity and his distinctive approach to design. His brand, now synonymous with bold lighting, furniture and accessories, also extends to tableware, candles and fragrances.

A true pioneer, Dixon’s designs are instantly recognisable for their sculptural qualities and engineered materials. His work is celebrated globally, with pieces featured in prestigious museums such as MoMA, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Pompidou Centre. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, an interior and architectural design firm known for projects like Shoreditch House and Sea Containers House.
Dixon's influence in design is undeniable, with multiple awards and an OBE for his contributions to innovation and design. His ability to blend minimalism with eclectic, expressive elements has made him one of the most iconic British designers of the 21st century, transforming spaces with pieces that blend beauty, function and artistry.
