Since its birth in 1850 (yes, 1850!), British brand Christy have created the most sumptuously soft towels, used in homes and hotels around the world.

Christy’s journey starts with their founder, Henry Christy, in a Manchester cotton mill. Along with his brother, he embarked on creating a machine that would allow the mass production of towelling fabric. By 1851 – only a year later – Christy towels had received a royal seal of approval by Her Majesty, Queen Victoria.

The royal adoration didn’t stop there. Queen Elizabeth ll enjoyed Christy’s cotton towels, too – and Christy often designed signature towels to celebrate coronations and other royal events. In 1988, Christy became the official towel supplier for The Championships, Wimbledon.
