Georg Jensen

Founded in 1904, Georg Jensen began as a small silversmith in Copenhagen and has since become a global design house renowned for its craftsmanship and innovation. Growing up in the picturesque Raadvad, Jensen was inspired to become an artist. While he succeeded as both a sculptor and ceramist, it was his talent as a silversmith that brought him the most recognition. His designs, including distinctive jewellery, hollowware and cutlery, helped define twentieth-century Scandinavian design by rejecting romantic ornamentation in favour of the avant-garde Art Nouveau style, characterised by simple, organic forms and a craft-based approach.
By the time of Georg Jensen’s death in 1935, the company was regarded as one of the world’s most important silversmiths. His vision of innovative design, impeccable craftsmanship and a progressive Scandinavian sensibility remains at the heart of the brand.
Here are some of our favourite pieces from Georg Jensen. The Cobra collection features gently curved, sensuous shapes that add an unexpected touch to the dining table. The tumblers, both visually striking and delightful to hold, are perfect for serving water at a dinner party or juice at breakfast. The Copenhagen stainless steel candleholder is a stunning example of contemporary Scandinavian design, with clean lines and minimalist elegance that bring a serene, calming atmosphere to any space.
