Tom Dixon

After two decades of working for some of the biggest names in design, Tom Dixon, a self-taught British designer, launched his own eponymous brand in 2002. Creating lighting and furniture that was contemporary yet referenced the unique history of British industry, he has since made his name as a leading figure of the design industry, by transforming everyday brands into extraordinary objects.

As a true pioneer of design, where Tom Dixon innovates, others follow. Being recognised for this, the brand's founder received an Order of the British Empire for his services to Innovation and Design.

After being introduced to welding in the 1980s, Tom Dixon spent a year crafting over 100 chairs to fine-tune his skills in physical design. Channelling this ability and passion, he then launched the brand with the debut S-chair, a piece with multiple interpretations, demonstrating a keen eye for structural integrity and a modernist vision.
