Belstaff
Solving the sartorial dilemma of many a motorcyclist, Belstaff came onto the fashion scene in 1924 as the first company to use wax cotton in the manufacturing of waterproof apparel for bikers.
Belstaff remained a huge supporter of motorcycle racing and in 1930 brand ambassador Joseph ‘Joe’ Wright broke the two-wheeling world speed record, which subsequently turned Belstaff into a household name. In 1951, Sammy Miller embarked on the Scottish Six Days Trial in Belstaff menswear and continued to wear the brand for more than 1000 races. Staying true to its initial concept while growing with the times, this wax cotton, edgy look has become the infamous signatory look of Belstaff up to this day, elevating classic leather biker style to high fashion.
Belstaff’s collections expanded rapidly from wax cotton jackets to the incorporation of a fully comprehensive menswear offering, from sunglasses and shoes to t-shirts and belts. The huge versatility of this household name has secured the support of Ewan McGregor, David Beckham and Will Smith alike.
