Founded by Cecil Douglas Ellis, an ambitious trainee designer and pattern cutter, who worked for leading fashion houses at the age of 17. By 1985 Cecil had started his own business and built one of the largest suede and lather manufacturing businesses in the UK. He was a leader in the industry. From working with United Nations to develop third-world countries to teaching design and manufacturing techniques in the clothing industry, Cecil has always devoted his time to giving back to the industry.

Renowned to stand out and never stand still, the brand expanded from leather and suede to casual wear, outerwear and formal garments in an array of luxurious fabrics. The business then went on to build new lines and quickly added suits, accessories, knitwear, ties, underwear and so much more.

Sadly, Cecil died at the age of 75. After devoting his life to the fashion industry, he took great pride in every piece and every detail crafted, designed and created. He played a major part of the business right until the end. Today, Cecil’s sons continue his legacy without a doubt and continue to deliver standout looks for weddings to work, date nights to race days and more for you to look suave and sophisticated in men’s formal wear from Gianni Feraud.
