Now a mainstay on the British High Street, Dune is a fairly young group that has quickly become an influential label with beautiful concept stores. Its high heels and boots are particularly popular.
A lover of trends, Dune’s in-house design team create spectacular footwear that has its finger on the fashion pulse.
Beginning as a 20 square metre concession on Oxford Street, the group has expanded to 40 standalone stores within the UK in just twenty-five years. The shoes can also be found in Topshop, House of Fraser, John Lewis and Selfridges, proving that their appeal spans a great many demographics.
After launching in 1992, the first Dune store opened on the King’s Road in West London, before expanding rapidly into the Middle East, and into designing men’s shoes.
By 2005, the Dune website had launched, and in 2013, shops opened in the Philippines, South Africa. Today, the brand has 175 concessions and 64 shops around the world, additional to the 40 in the UK.
In 2013, Dune was awarded the Drapers Footwear Award for Footwear Retailer of the Year. The following year, it scooped the award for Multiple Footwear Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Footwear and Accessories Awards. Chairman Daniel also picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony.
