Karen Millen

Karen Millen is a British label born and bred. Individually designed, hand-crafted and perfected at an in-house atelier, this is a brand that uses couture-inspired techniques and luxurious heritage fabrics to produce its highly covetable collections.

A loan of just £100 started Karen Millen in 1981 with a line of white shirts that she and co-founder Kevin Stanford manufactured and sold to their friends. Soon after, the pair began a party plan network flogging their simple and beautiful clothes. In 1983, their first store opened in Maidstone, Kent.

In only a few years, Karen Millen’s one shop had expanded to Tunbridge Wells, Brighton, Guildford and London. Today, the British label retails in 424 stores in 63 countries across 6 continents. Flagship stores in London, New York, Dubai and Shanghai uphold the excellent design pedigree of this high-street store.

Today, creative director Gemma Metheringham oversees the production of two main collections and two transitional collections each year. Soft suede, beautiful cotton, versatile denim and leather shoes make up collection after collection of contemporary classics.
