When founder Peter Simon returned from an Asian adventure in 1972, he founded his label with a desire to bring exotic fabrics and fine clothing inspired by faraway lands, to the UK.

Beginning with a stall in Portobello Road, Simon soon expanded to Beauchamp Place, and then Covent Garden. Today, there are more than one thousand Monsoon Outlets around the world. Accessorize, the ever-popular accessories sister brand opened in London’s Covent Garden in 1984.

The Monsoon Accessorize Trust was set up in 1994 as a way of giving back to women and children who live disadvantaged lives in the continent that inspired the brand. This fair approach to business still informs the brand to this day.

Throughout the nineties, childrenswear and homeware joined womenswear and accessories to expand this brand to new heights. Today, these departments all combine to produce one of the high-street’s most popular destinations.
