Five decades ago, a young Aldo Bensadoun set out to realise his dream of becoming the best shoe retailer in the world. Aldo was the son of a shoe merchant and the grandson of a cobbler. He believed in more than just selling shoes. His eponymous line ALDO made its debut on six feet of department store shelf space in 1972. In 1978, the first ALDO freestanding store opened its door in Montreal, a city he fell in love with. Ever since, Aldo was always determined to create a new kind of business.
ALDO designs footwear and accessories while making a difference to those that wear them, and the brand was the first in the world to be certified climate neutral.
