Boden was born of Johnny, in his kitchen in 1991. Beginning as a mail order company, starting with a small number of menswear items, then moving into womenswear in 1992, followed by kidswear in 1996 when Kate Barton joined the company as chief designer.

Since then, the company has grown from strength to strength and is sold in countries all over the globe with millions of regular customers dedicated to the British Heritage brand.
