Hush was founded in 2003 when Mandy Watkins, an Aussie spending her first winter in the Northern Hemisphere, realised she needed to start designing her own wardrobe in order to keep cosy during the long winter evenings in the UK. For almost 20 years Hush has been creating laidback yet elevated styles for women, for whatever the British weather decides. A timeless brand with sensibility and style that is gathering a cult following across the UK, most notably, Christine Lampard on Loose Women bringing sunshine to our screens when she stepped out in the dreamiest Hush rainbow dress. Hush found an audience among women aged 35 to 45 who enjoy fashion and clothes that make them feel good, but are not a slave to trends. Starting at kitchen table with just Mandy, her laptop and a vision, Hush has grown rapidly into a brand that combines practicality and style, bringing us clothing and accessories that feel classic, timeless and exciting all at once. Hush is all about bringing joy to the everyday, and helping to create wardrobes that are comfortable, wearable but also stylish; by designing high quality clothes that are meant to be worn time and time again. The Hush ethos is that you only need a few key items to create a hard-working capsule wardrobe. ‘You can go a long way with a silk shirt or camisole, black jacket, joggers and jeans’ Mandy says. Mandy is also inspired by what she, as a working mother of two with a social life, needs from clothes. Time-strapped mums need a wardrobe that doesn’t involve too much thinking or planning. Be it a skirt or a top that goes with a lot of other things, can be thrown on and just as easily thrown in the washing machine and dryer (and ideally clothing that doesn’t need to be ironed) is the sort of clothing that busy women always come back to.

Hush is well known for soft joggers, which come in a variety of finishes and prints and can be dressed up with heels or styled casually for the school run and errands. Other Hush staples for the working-woman’s wardrobe include relaxed boyfriend jeans, biker jackets, silk shirts and star-print sweaters.
